Changes to Highway Browser Data

 

Check out the following list from time to time to see changes and corrections to the highways used in this clinched highway site. New routes are born, die, renumbered, extended, and even shortened every so often, and these changes are periodically listed below. Occasional corrections to the highway data are also given below. These changes will affect your clinched highway maps and may require you to update and resubmit your .list file. Check your error log for new errors generated by these changes.

  • Changed North Carolina I-73/I-74_E interchange label 0 to 24.

  • Added Tennessee I-24 interchange 80 (TN Secondary 99).
  • Added Tennessee I-26 interchange 10 (Eastern Star Road).
  • Added Tennessee I-40 interchange 229 (Beckwith Road).
  • Split Tennessee I-40/I-75 interchange 379 into two interchanges: 379 (Bridgewater Road) and 379A (Gallaher View Road).

  • No more updates (including processing new .list files) until 2008.
  • There are conflicting reports as to whether Pennsylvania I-99 is an official interstate north of Exit 52. I-99 might show incorrectly until this is resolved after the holidays.
  • Added West Virginia I-64 interchange 40 (CR 33/Future US 35). Now it is open.

  • Corrected Arkansas I-540 interchanges 22 -> 24, 1(S) -> 2(S), 12(40) -> 15, 7(40) -> 20.
  • Removed Michigan I-96 Business Spur (Portland). The route has been decommissioned.

  • Changed North Carolina I-140 interchange labels to the corresponding exit numbers.
  • Changed Georgia I-20 interchange 74 --> 74A and added interchange 74 (Lithonia Industrial Boulevard).

  • Added Pennsylvania I-80 interchange 90 (Airport Road/PA 830).
  • Removed Michigan Business Loop I-496. The highway is a local city loop and not a proper Interstate loop.

  • Corrected Georgia I-75 interchange 295 -> 296.
  • Added Georgia I-516 interchange 7A (US 80/GA 26).
  • Added Florida I-95 interchange 352A (Forest Street).

  • Split the Highway Browser into 4 quadrants for each highway set. This makes a larger number of shorter highway lists in the Browser, an improvement for users with a slow internet connection.
    • The division was made so that Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas are adjacent corner states in the 4 different quadrants. (I might tweak the division in the future.)
  • Corrected South Dakota I-90 Business Loop (Rapid City) intersections: US16Trk_E -> SD79, CamSt -> US16Trk.
  • Added Tennessee I-26 interchange 34 (Tinker Road).
  • Changed all Tennessee I-26 interchange numbers. Tennessee is making the official change this week. Update your .list file if you included any part of this route.
  • Corrected North Carolina interchange numbers for all of I-240 and for the part of I-26 that overlaps I-240 near Asheville. Update your .list file if you included any part of these routes.
  • Corrected Minnesota I-90 interchange 270 -> 269 for US 14/US 61.
  • Added Minnesota I-90 interchange 270 for Center Street.
  • Added Minnesota I-94 interchanges 194 for Fenning Avenue and 173 for County Highway 175.
  • Marked Minnesota I-94 interchange *195 for Broadway Street as closed (*). Recently closed interchanges are labeled with an asterisk (*).

  • Split Tennessee I-24 into 3 pieces as it crosses into and out of Georgia. Update your .list file if you included any part of this route.
    • TN I-24: From the KY/TN border to the western TN/GA border crossing.
    • GA I-24: Between the two TN/GA border crossings.
    • TN I-24_E: From the eastern GA/TN border crossing to I-75.
  • Split New York I-684 into 3 pieces as it crosses into and out of Connecticut. Update your .list file if you included any part of this route.
    • NY I-684_S: From the south end at I-287 to the southern NY/CT border crossing.
    • CT I-684: Between the two border crossings.
    • NY I-684: From the northern CT/NY border crossing to the north end at I-84.
  • Added Missouri Business Loop I-55 (Crystal City) intersection US61 (US 61 south junction).
  • Added Missouri Business Loop I-55 (New Madrid) intersection US61Spr (Spur US 61/Scott Street).

  • Added the new segment of New York I-86 as NY I-86_E. It spans 9 miles, heading eastward from I-81 near Binghamton, NY.
  • Added Mississippi I-69.
  • Corrected South Carolina I-26 Interchanges labels: 208 -> 209B, 209 -> 209A.
  • Corrected South Carolina Business Spur I-385 (Greensburg) label: US123 -> US123Con.
  • Added point for South Carolina Business Spur I-585 (Spartanburg): US176/221Con for the connector between I-585 BS/US 176 to US 221.

  • Added Indiana I-70 Interchange 68 for Six Points Road.
  • Corrected Michigan Business Loop I-69 (Lansing) intersection MI99 to MLKingBlvd.
  • Added several points to Michigan Business Loop I-96 (Lansing).
  • Removed Idaho Business Loops I-90 for Coeur D'Alene and Kellogg. They have been decommissioned.
  • Removed Washington Business Loop I-90 for Spokane. It has been decommissioned.
  • Added Montana Business Loop I-90 for Alberton.

  • Added North Dakota Business Loop I-94 (Medora) point for Theodore Roosevelt Nat'l Park entrance (ParkRd).

  • Added Texas Business Loop I-27 for Hale Center.
  • Added Virginia I-66 Interchange 23A. This is a stray ramp that's part of Exit 23.
  • Extended Virginia I-464 south to Interchange 0 for US17 & VA 168.
  • Extended Nevada I-215 east to I-515. All interchange labels have changed. Update your .list file if you included any part of this route.

  • Added New Mexico Business Loop I-10 for Las Cruces.

  • Extended Iowa I-380 north to Mitchell Ave. (999).

July 10–11, 2006

  • Added new, duplicate labels for state border crossings for all Interstate highways. The new labels include both states separated by a slash. For example, the crossing of I-90 from Pennsylvania to New York is labeled as PA/NY. The old labels (0 and 999) will remain, and users do not need to change these numeric labels to the new state labels.
  • Extended North Carolina I-140 westward to the new US421 interchange.

  • Corrected California I-80 interchange labels: 0 -> 1A (US 101), 3 -> 2C (Fremont St.).
  • Corrected several instances where two adjacent points along a highway mistakenly had identical coordinates. In all these cases, the first point in the pair had the correct coordinates (and no change was made), and the second point had the wrong coordinates (and has been fixed). If you used any of these labels in your .list file, you should check to see if you used the correct label.

  • Removed North Carolina I-26 between Interchanges 9 and 26. This portion of the freeway is Future I-26 and not officially I-26. I-26 between the TN/NC state line (0) and Exit 9 is now NC I-26_W. I-26 between Exit 26 and the NC/SC state line remains NC I-26.
